Equal Opportunities and Accessibility

Our jobs are open to all
We believe that diversity in the workplace creates dynamic, relevant organisations, fostering spaces for innovation and creativity. We recognise the positive values of diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.

We believe this broader collective perspective can help us to make as much impact as possible and we are working hard to increase diversity in our team. We are keen to hear from individuals with personal experience of mental health difficulties, and we especially welcome applications from people from racialised and minoritised backgrounds, disabled people and men who are currently underrepresented at Student Minds.

Priority Interview Scheme - for candidates from ethnically-diverse backgrounds
We recognise that candidates from ethnically-diverse backgrounds may face additional barriers throughout their careers and when applying for charity roles. We are committed to taking positive action to expand the diversity of our staff team by offering a prioritised interview scheme for candidates from ethnically-marginalised backgrounds.

If you meet the minimum criteria for a role and are from an ethnically-diverse background, you'll be prioritised for an interview.

It is important to note that this scheme prioritises interviews for applicants from ethnically-diverse backgrounds who demonstrate they can meet the minimum criteria laid out in the person specification through their application form and tell us that they'd like to be considered under the scheme.

Candidates must answer questions in full in the application form, providing sufficient evidence to demonstrate they meet the minimum criteria  (knowledge, skills and experience) as laid out in the person specification. They will then be asked to select whether they’d like to be considered under this scheme in the application form.

The selection decision at interview will be based on the most suitable candidate, regardless of any protected characteristic.

Accessibility and inclusivity

We are committed to making our roles and culture inclusive. We can make reasonable adjustments to application processes, interviews, locations and working hours on a case-by-case basis.

If you are interested in applying for a position and have particular accessibility needs, including special educational needs, please get in touch at vacancies@studentminds.org.uk and let us know any requirements you may have.
