Why work at Student Minds?

We want people to thrive at Student Minds; we believe you do your best work when you feel your best. As such, our team comes first and we are proud of our culture; we offer a supportive, flexible and enjoyable place to work.

As part of our staff team, the following benefits are available:

  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus a 2-week winter closure.
    • We all need time away from work to recharge, travel, take care of personal stuff, or spend time with family and friends.
  • Part-time and flexible working
    • We recognise that everyone’s circumstances are different. We encourage all employees to reflect on when they work best and how they need to fit work around caring or other commitments.
    • Whether it’s remote working or varying your start and finish times, we know our staff are happiest and do their best work when given this freedom. Our core working hours are 10-4pm, which brings the team together for meetings, but outside of this it’s up to you how you structure your day.
  • Support for your wellbeing
    • Staff wellbeing is a high priority. We support staff to implement Wellness Action Plans and offer 10% of weekly working hours for you to invest in your wellbeing. Whether that’s going for a walk, a spot of yoga or simply time away from the screen, we want to support you to stay mentally healthy at work.
  • Pension
    • We’ll help you plan for the future with our workplace pension scheme to support you with saving for your retirement.
  • Happier weekdays
    • Get to know colleagues better through team lunches and socials.
  • Investing in you
    • We value regular 1-2-1s between staff and line-managers to provide personal and professional support.
  • Learning and development
    • When you grow, we grow. We’re keen to support your professional development. Take a course, buy a book, gain some knowledge - we’ll support you to do so.
    • As well as a comprehensive induction, you’ll also benefit from internal skill-shares and team days for the chance to reflect and hone your skills with the rest of the team.
  • Competitive salary
    • If you’re at a not-for-profit, we know money isn’t what drives you, but you’ve got to pay the bills somehow.
  • Time for your fitness
    • Student Minds is keen to promote healthy lifestyles for all its staff. We encourage you to embed exercise into your day, whether that’s going for a run over lunch or adjusting your work hours to attend an exercise class.
“Student Minds embraces flexibility, with a recognition that people have lives and challenges outside of work. I would definitely recommend applying to join the team!” Kate, Fundraising Officer

“Since starting I've been challenged and stretched to achieve things I never imagined I'd be able to and having the support of the team means it's always felt doable.” Leigh, Sector Improvement Lead.
