Supporting Supporters
We understand that it's not always easy supporting a friend who is experiencing an eating difficulty.
It's important that whilst caring for others, you also remember your own health and make sure to look after yourself too. The supporting supporters two-part workshops are for just that - making sure you are able to take care of yourself whilst supporting your friend through their recovery. This workshop runs at a limited number of universities. To see if the workshops are running at your university, you can contact your university’s Student Minds group directly or email [email protected]. If it is not available at your university, our Look After Your Mate workshop may offer a useful alternative option. |
How are the sessions structured and who should attend? The workshops are delivered by Student Minds volunteers and are aimed at students whose friend and/or loved one is experiencing eating difficulties. Each session is two and a half hours long and attendees will be asked to commit to both sessions in order to gain the maximum benefit from the course. |
