Two Point Four Million Metres Challenge

Students are struggling more than ever. We need YOUR help to keep being there to support them.

SIGN UP NOW

What:

There are 2.4 million students across the UK, and our mission is to ensure they are all able to thrive at university and beyond.  We are challenging you, our community of supporters, to collectively travel 2.4 million metres and raise as much money as possible to further support the university community.

How:

As we know what constitutes a challenge is different for every one of us, it’s up to you to decide what distance you’re going to pledge. You can pledge to reach your distance using any method - walking, cycling, running, travelling by wheelchair, rowing - whatever works for you.

Who:

You can sign up as an individual or as a group. For example, you could challenge your running buddies to join you, or it could be a great team-building activity in your workplace at a time when you’re still physically distanced. If you’re taking on the challenge at work, why not ask your employer to match what you raise to push your total even higher?

When:

You can complete your pledge at any time  - it’s up to you whether you want to do it all in one go, or spread it out.

Why:

Even under normal circumstances, students face a number of social, academic and financial pressures at university that can have a negative impact on their wellbeing - and sadly, up to ⅓ of students experience clinical levels of psychological distress at university. The coronavirus pandemic has brought several additional pressures, from extra academic pressures to health worries, and from loneliness to unsuitable working conditions.
We’ve been stepping up our work to support students through this difficult time. However there is a lot more we still want, and need to do. Your support will make this possible. If you've got any questions, please contact fundraising@studentminds.org.uk
