We're thrilled to be partnering with the It Gets Brighter team on this innovative, global campaign to give those struggling the hope that It Gets Brighter. On the site you can watch videos of hope and inspiration as well as find suggestions for how to start recording your own It Gets Brighter video.
"We welcome anyone and everyone who wants to submit a video,” said Mr Josh Chauvin, It Gets Brighter Executive Director and Canadian graduate student at Oxford University . “You don’t have to have a personal experience of mental illness to support those among us that do. Telling others that you’re there to listen can be just as strong of a message. We need to have a culture of openness about mental health.”
In preparation for the website launch, the It Gets Brighter team have been working behind the scenes to collect videos and support from many high profile public figures, including Stephen Fry (British comedian), Ruby Wax (British comedian) and Penny Wright (Australian politician). Geoff Gallop (former Australian politician), Jeff Kennett (former Australian politician) and Justin Welby (Archbishop of Canterbury) have also provided videos.
It Gets Brighter can be accessed from 28 January 2015.
